Triple Bypass 3 years ago.

I have a student who would like to start practicing that had Triple Bypass surgery (big time heart surgery) a few years ago.

Would there be any reason why he couldn’t begin a hot yoga Practice?

Should I tell him to speak to his Doctor?

Many thanks,

With a bypass surgery, this student should be as good as new. No problem. Let them come in and start slow, rest when necessary, try everything the right way.

Teach them that doing 1%, 100% trying the right way will give them all the benefits.

I’m sure he is under a doctor’s care already. A lot of doctors do not know about or understand hot yoga. This yoga was created for people, just like him, with chronic pain and disease.

Just let him come in a give it a try.

I think I remember Dr. Preddy talking about this too. He said basically what Anna says – after the surgery, they should be as good as new. And actually, he said that the student who has had a bypass is the least of your worries…. it’s the student who HASN’T had a bypass yet (and the arteries are clogged but he doesn’t know it yet) who you should worry about!

Comforting….
